Over the past seven years, the Cairo Office's Community
Development portfolio, which includes work in community youth
development (CYD), has supported a specific initiative promoting
the integration of youth in community development processes;
however, a decision has recently been taken to phase out our
work in the field of community development in the Middle East
and North Africa Region. As a result, Ford is no longer able to
consider new proposals in this field

As part of its commitment to a responsible transition out of the
field, Ford has supported several major initiatives to
strengthen CYD work in the region; please see Arab Education
Forum 'Safar' mobility fund (p. 12) and Save the Children -Naseej Programme (p. 66)

The Cairo Office remains committed to addressing the priorities
and concerns of youth across the five fields in which it
continues to work and welcomes proposals which seek to engage
youth as active players in the above fields |
